It's been a tough couple of days for us as we tried to do a fun surprise launch of the 1.1 Update on Sunday night but ended up surprising everyone with a major bug that would crash the game nonstop.
I stayed up late into the night until I figured out what was going wrong, tested my fix until we were pretty confident about it, and submitted it to cert on Monday. It just got through a couple hours before this email is being sent and seems to have done the trick! You may need to manually check for updates if it doesn't auto-update.
To anyone who couldn't load their saves or was dealing with the crashes, we're really sorry for the inconvenience and are so appreciative of your patience as we got it sorted out ❤️
The 1.1 Localization Update brings French, Spanish (LatAm), and German translations to all the game text and dialogue.
If you don't speak any of those languages this update might not sound that exciting, but it was a huge project for us and we're super excited to get more folks playing. The game wasn't designed with localization in mind from the beginning, so a lot of work had to go into supporting it (as in every single bit of UI, notifications, etc. had to be manually updated) along with the actual translation work of all our text, which was done by Local Heroes.
From early reports it sounds like the translators did a great job of capturing the spirit of the game. There are still be a couple minor bits and bobs of text we didn't catch here and there, but we'll be getting those updated soon.
If you'd like the game translated in more languages, let us know on our Discord!
We'll now be jumping back into our Springtime Event update and then solidifying the rest of our plans for the year. Once we do so, I'll share an updated roadmap.
Thanks again for all your support, kindness, and patience--it means so much to all of us working on Ooblets ❤️
